The BCIT Real Estate Association (REA) is a student run organization passionate about personal development, learning and real estate. Our goal is to facilitate a greater learning opportunity and experience for students through connecting with industry professionals. We strive to be the most professional and organized student club, as well as the leaders for connecting students with industry. The REA achieves this through networking, guest speaker events, current market knowledge, and high levels of communication meetings.            

The Professional Real Estate Program at BCIT  is recognized for its focus, intensity and application of practical skills. The REA is designed to complement the programs curriculum, and create the opportunity for students to build valuable relationships.

Fahad Abrahani - President

Fahad has always been passionate about Real Estate and business. Upon graduation from high school, he studied business at Kwantlen University. There he gained great interest in marketing and economics. To combine his passion for both Real Estate and business, Fahad decided to pursue his education at BCIT's School of Business in Marketing Management: Professional Real Estate. 

Fahad's goal for the 2011/2012 year is to ensure that the BCIT Real Estate Association continues to remain the most professional student association as well as the leader for connecting students with industry.

 

Kyle Breaks - VP of Marketing & Events

Last Fall Kyle began the Marketing Real Estate program at BCIT to seek out greater  knowledge of the real estate industry in BC. He knows that Vancouver provides tremendous opportunity to soak up one of the greatest real estate cultures in North America. Kyle’s past experiences as a member of the Canadian Forces has taught him the values of determination and drive, both assets he will bring to the REA in a variety of ways.

Looking forward to 2011-2012 Kyle’s main goal for the Real Estate Association is to go ‘above and beyond.’ This includes strengthening the club’s current initiatives and events as well as generating new ideas for the club and answering member’s needs. Kyle wants to contribute to the club gaining a long-standing reputation as an active participant in the real estate industry this year, and for years to come. 

 

Marc Yap - VP of Membership & Communication

Marc has spent two years at both SFU and UBC as an English Literature student while working full-time in sales for Telus during the past 5 years. It was during this period where he discovered his strong interest for sales and his passion in the Real Estate industry. After conducting research on how to best prepare himself for a career in Real Estate, Marc decided to pursue BCIT for its unique educational structure and its reputable connections to the industry. Marc, who is highly passionate in sports and fitness, plays both roller and ice hockey.

As the VP of Membership & Communications for the 2011/ 2012 BCIT Real Estate Association, Marc seeks to bridge several gaps. This includes building strong relationships and connections between students and industry professionals while encouraging student involvement at industry events. Marc believes the REA is a tremendous resource that provides ample opportunity for all of its members and is a valuable steppingstone for BCIT Real Estate students making the transition to the industry.

Rob Elliott - President

Rob came to BCIT in May 2009 to further his education, after a career in the health and fitness industry. Prior to returning to BCIT, Rob spent the previous three years working with Innovative Fitness where he was able to travel, challenge himself physically, and meet many local business leaders. These business leaders inspired and encouraged him to further his education, and pursue his interests in real estate.

Rob’s goal for 2010/2011 is to build a long-term foundation for the growth and future of The BCIT Real Estate Association.

 

Chris Brown - VP of Membership & Finance 

Chris' pursuit of healthy environments where he can develop personally and professionally continue to drive his decisions. Past work experiences have taken him into industries such as retail, hospitality, and tourism.  An avid amateur athlete, Chris has competed in events such as the Sun Run, Vancouver Half Marathon, BC Bike Race, and the Grouse Grind Mountain Run.

As an executive member of the BCIT REA, Chris’s goals include: developing a sustainable association for future members, offering student members a greater understanding of the Vancouver Real Estate industry, and offering the local Real Estate Industry an opportunity to network with students of the BCIT Real Estate program

 


 Jeron Dillon - VP of Communication

Jeron’s passion of real estate drove him to BCIT to further his education of the industry.  Jeron’s past experiences of building houses and playing competitive college basketball have helped drive his passion, and have taught him lessons that he will be able to take with him into the industry.

Jeron’s goals for the year include building a strong and sustainable association for this year and for years to come, as well as continuing to build strong relationships with those around him.

 

 

 

Betty Dich - VP of Creative Advertising

Betty has worked in the marketing and design industry for over 3 years. Her job allowed her to interact with top executives from numerous companies.  It is through this interaction that Betty realized that Real Estate is the industry for her.  Betty has a passion for learning and a drive for success. These attributes help her thrive to become successful in anything she applies herself to. Betty strives to develop her artistic and aesthetic abilities to socialize, teach, advise, guide and harmonize associations. In her limited spare time Betty enjoys to travel, cook and garden.

Fahad has always been passionate about Real Estate and business. After he graduated from Hugh McRoberts Secondary in 2006, he studied business at Kwantlen University for two years. There, he gained great interest in marketing and economics. To combine his passion for both Real Estate and business, Fahad decided to pursue his education at BCIT’s school of business, in the Marketing Management: Professional Real Estate Option.
